Trail Map

Overview

The Cedar Breaks backcountry offers some of the most scenic UTV riding in Utah, with trails skirting the edge of the famous Cedar Breaks amphitheater. At over 10,000 feet elevation, this is truly high-altitude adventure riding.

Trail Access

Access is via Highway 148 with several trailheads along the route. The main OHV staging area is located at the junction of Highway 148 and the Rattlesnake Trail.

What to Expect

Trails in this area are more technical than Brian Head, with steeper grades and rockier terrain. A capable UTV with good ground clearance is recommended. Most trails are not suitable for ATVs.

Scenic Highlights

  • Views of the 2,500-foot deep Cedar Breaks amphitheater
  • Ancient bristlecone pine forests
  • Wildflower meadows in July and August
  • Wildlife including mule deer, elk, and raptors

Important Notes

Due to the high elevation, trails don't typically open until early July and close with the first significant snowfall in late September. Check conditions before heading out.
