Overview

Slaughter Creek Trail offers 99.4 miles of intermediate riding with the unique feature of multiple creek crossings. This loop takes riders through some of Iron County's most remote and beautiful terrain.

Creek Crossings

The namesake creek crossings are typically shallow but can vary with seasonal conditions:

  • Spring: Higher water levels, use caution
  • Summer: Most crossings are easily passable
  • Fall: Ideal conditions with moderate water

Camping Opportunities

Several designated camping areas along the route make this an excellent overnight adventure. Dispersed camping is allowed in many areas - check current regulations.

Wildlife

The creek corridor is home to diverse wildlife. Early morning and evening rides often yield sightings of deer, elk, wild turkeys, and various birds of prey.
